Salt Lake City- Salt Lake City is the state capital. In 2000 the population was 181,743. The city was founded in 1847 by a group of Ladder day Saints. Rocky Anderson is the current mayor of Salt Lake City. Saint George- the city of Saint George is located in Washington County. In 2000 the population was 49,663. On the east side of the city is the Zion National Park. Mountains are north and southeast of Saint George.
